It's November 11th. We're just 15 wake-ups until Thanksgiving and 44 wake-ups until Christmas! Where on earth did 2015 go? Looking back, this year seems like a blur.
At this time of year all over social media we see daily posts derived from challenges to announce what you're thankful for. I'm totally in support of this and I wish it happened more throughout the year. Any thanks we give daily or seasonally for the things we are grateful for is just good for our soul. Being thankful and proclaiming it can change the way you view your world and the way the world views you. A simple thanks can bring you right into the present moment instead of worrying about the future or relishing in the past.
Today, on Veteran's Day, I am thankful for the armed forces, both past and present, serving our country in the spirit of preserving our freedom. I'm also thankful for the opportunity to begin this new blog - I find peace in writing. Where and how do you find peace?
I'm inspired to put a little sign on my nightstand that will serve as a gentle reminder to be thankful as I start each day. Let's see if we can commit to daily thanks for the next 15 days. Please share your thanks below! On Thanksgiving we can be sure to remind ourselves that in 1621, Native Americans and Pilgrims together celebrated a day of thanks in honor of their successful harvest. Whatever that day brings you - time spent with family and friends, delicious food, football, a pleasant late autumn day - share your appreciation with the world and it will share it's appreciation with you. I promise.
